H-4 Stamping

Hello Everybody,

I would appreciate your input/thoughts into the following -

In Nov 2000, me and my family got the H-1(thru Company A) & H-4 stamped from the Chennai Consulate. On my return to the US, I joined Company B on receiving the H-1 approval. The Company B also applied for my wife\'s H-4. Recently my wife went to India.

Now for her return does she need to have the H-4 visa stamp of my current employer on her passport or can she travel with the old stamping? By the way, the visa stamping is valid till Oct 2003.

Thanks in advance.

Jack

Jack, Yes she need to have new visa stamping!

Yes, she need to have the H-4 visa stamp of your current employer on her return, because you are not working any more with your old employer.
Good luck.

New H4 Stamping

I have the H1 visa stamping from my old company which is valid until oct 2002, I joined a new company and have new H1 approval, do I need to get the new stamping before applying for H4 visa for my wife??

I don\'t think so

You do not need stamping in your passport but if you leave this country you do need the stamping with your new employer. H4 is not a problem you can apply any time. you have to submit your new I797 document with the application.
Good luck
