H-4 Name Change

Hi,
I transferred to H-1 from F-1 and my wife transferred from F-2 to H-4. We have not have our H Visas stamped on our passport yet but do have the notice of approval. However, we applied for name change for my wife on the Indian passport and got a new passport reflecting the new name. So, as of now, my wife's passport and her H-4 approval notice are on different names. I want to know if this will be an issue when we apply for visa at the consulate in India. My company's lawyer says that this is a non-issue but I am not very confident in his abilities/knowledge.

---- NO, You have just done the right thing, there is nothing to worry about. After marriage all you have done is added your last name to your wife's name and got a Passport issued. When you go for the Visa intreview carry both the Passports and they will stamp the visa on the new Passport
