Hi there, I'm currently a sophomore in a private college in the USA and on L-2 status. This L-2 expires on Sept 2. Furthermore, I'm approved for H-4 but I haven't submitted the application yet (H-4 would be effective on Oct 1).
1. Which visa should I change to, F-1 or H-4? What're the pros/cons of each?
2. Do I need to exit the country once I'm approved?
3. My green card application is is waiting for Labor Cert. Does the change to H-4 or L-2 affect that?
4. Between Sept 2 and Oct 1, I won't have a valid visa, is it true that once I submit the application to USCIS I'm allowed to say, or do I have to file an extension?
