My wife\'s H-4 visa is denied under section 221(g) for additional administrative processing on Dec. 10, 2001. We did not hear from Chennai consulate again for 3 months now. Is any one experiencing similar situation?

When you say denied, did you attend personal interview? My wife used the drop box facility and she got a letter after three days asking her to wait till additional administrative processing is completed and they will communicate back to her. They returned all the docs except for the copy of I797. She submitted only a copy of I797 and copy of my passport and I feel they are enquiring with INS about the I797 authenticity.

H4 visa denied.
Applied through TTS, Hyderabad. They sent a letter saying that they need to do some additional administrative processing.

No H-4 individuals cannot do that legally

I am in a similar situation but from Chennai TTS
I am waiting for the last 2 weeks. And no reply from them yet. They never said it is rejected or something like that. The exact text of the letter was "Wait for our office to contact you regarding your visa application. Your application requires additional administrative processing before any further action can be taken"..the letter was a pretyped message out of which this para was tick marked with a pen. Let me know if you have the same letter

I am trying to find out if they are any similarities in your case and mine....I am wondering if this has anything to do with my green card processing here. Can you tell me if you are in the final stage of your green card ....just wondering...since we say in DS 156 that no immigrant petition is pending on her name.

My wife received the same exact letter.
My wife received the same exact letter on Dec. 10, 2001. We have not heard from Consulate again for more than 3 months. I know two other individuals with similar situation but they received the approval letter after 7 to 8 weeks. MY GC is in final stage too. My Finger Printing was done in Jan. 2002. I have talked to my attorney and he does not believe that it is due to my Green Card processing. We can talk some time to discuss over the phone to find out other similarities. It is the standard stuff that Consulate need. I heard that they are randomly picking up on some applications to do investigation. They probably have surplus funds to take us for a ride.
