H-1b stamping experience

I just received H-1b stamp on my passport from Mexico. I had made my appointment before Nov.1, hence I could still go there for stamping.

My case was F1-OPT-H1. I never had any status problem. The consular was very nice and did not ask whole lot. I was asked to show only I-797, employment verification letter and EAD card. I did not have to show any paystubs or degree/transcript.

I wish to express my gratitude to the forum for all the help and information.

rsemwal,

If you dont mind me asking you this, you know why they asked you for EAD? If you are on H1, H1 approival notice (I-797) should be sufficient to show that you have proper authorization to be employed.
Iam asking because I am going for H1 stamping too, soon to canada.
Also, if you like, pls share any other questions they have asked.

They ask you for EAD only if you have done practical training on F-1 status in US. If it does not apply to you, dont worry about it.

I was asked only simple questions like,

-How many employees work in my company?

-Which school I went to? When did I graduate?

-Did I have any previous H-1 visa?

-Which place in home country, I belong to?

Good luck!
