H-1B revalidate while H-1B expire on Jan 1,2004

hi, guys

I am planning to revaliate my H-1B visa at St. Louis, MO. But my H-1B will expire on January 1, 2004. My lawyer now is preparing my H-1B extension. So I am not quite sure if I should revalidate my current H-1B visa now which ends on January 1,2004, or wait for the approvel of extension, then revalidate the H-1B.

If I revalidate the current H-1B, will new visa valid until the end of next january? On the other hand, If I wait for the approvel of extension, will I still have enough time to revalidate H-1B before january?

I really need to take the trip in january. Any suggestion is helpful, thank you very much.

---- if you file H1B extension now it may be approved in 4-5 months time and that time you should send the PP for revalidation and you will not hit 1 year from visa Stamp expiry date and will be eligible to revalidate in US

---- I hope you have NOT H1 visa stamp in passport till JAN, if that is the case you will not get your visa stamped before your departure as it is taking 90-100 days to receive the PP back. You should change your plan. If you have Visa stamp valid till Jan1 then visit and be back before the Visa stamp expires. I don’t know if you have visa stamp.
