H-1b renewal documents delayed

Hi,

My H-1b expired on 1 Dec, 03.
The renewal document were mailed on 1st Dec and received by
BCIS on 2nd Dec, 03.

1) Am I still in status.
2) If I am not in status what should be done to get the status
back.

2. You are past the correction phase.

However all is not lost. Covert your processing to premium processing and get the H1 approval and get the new stamp to ensure future hassle free entry into US.

Why would premium processing will result in approval.
Why the regular processing be a problem.

I heard that the BCIS see the date it was posted not the date it was received. Is that right.
