H-1B extension or EAD? Will it affect my parents' future visiting?

Hi,

My H-1B is going to be expired(6yr limit) next May. And I plan to invite my parents to visit me early next year. If I use EAD next year, will my new status affect my parents applying for the visas? Or the only option for me is to apply for the H-1B extension?

You can be on H1, better to extend H1 for 7th year. Having EAD or being on EAD or H1 does not help to get visitor visa. They check the ties with the home country of the applicant who applies for visitor visa and consulate officer wants to make sure they will return back. H1 or work on EAD or pending AOS has nothing to do with visitor visa for parents.

Having 7th year H1 extended has its own benefits for YOU.

---- Depends on your service center, it may take 3-4 months, if premium processing then 15-20 days
