H-1 visa renewal stamp and H-4 visa

Dear People:

My H-1B is expiring on Sep 01, 2004 and I filed for extension (premium processing). The web site shows that it is approved and they mailed the original receipt on June 23rd. I am expecting it this week. I got married in May and I would like to get my wife here on H-4.

1) Is it advisable that I apply for my H-1B domestic revalidation (I know it is being discontinued beyond July 16th) and then let my wife go for H-4 visa or I go to india to get my H-1 visa renewal stamp and take her along for her H-4

2) Any recent experiences on H-1B renewal stamps in Chennai ?? I got my F-1 visa from Chennai in Dec 96, then my H-1B from Kolkata in Jul 2003..

3) What do you mean by work experience letters.. I have been working with the same company since 2001... Where from can I get these ?? From my manager, colleagues, etc...

4) I have been in US since 1997.. Do I need the tax docs for all the years ?? I am not sure if I have all of them.. I do have all the ones from when I joined work..

--ask the lawyer he might have recieved Approval Notice
I got married in May and I would like to get my wife here on H-4.

---it is musch better to get your H1 Visa stamp revalidated in US, send it before 16

and then let my wife go for H-4 visa
-----that is OK, but your wife can get H4 and it is NOT must that you should have valid H1 VISA STAMP in your passport to get her H4
or I go to india to get my H-1 visa renewal stamp and take her along for her H-4
---- let her go to get H4, you revalidate H1 visa stamp in US, (make copy of ALL the passport pages including blank pages and keep copy H1 approval notice with you)
I am suggesting you to get Revalidated IN US becase many consulates Chennai and Bombay in India create problems for H1 Visa stamps or delay it
