H-1 time limit. HELP please!

Hello, I have a question regarding the H-1 limit. I have seen very lots of posts here that the maximum time is 6 years.But there are also some posts talking about three year extension. I was on my first company for one year H-1, and the second one(also the current one) for three years. The I-797 form says it will expire this october. Can I extend for another two years? Or the 6 yrs limit has to be used 3, 3 years period?

yes the maximum time limit is 6 years for your total stay here.
In your case yes you can claim the 2 years.

Unless if you have started GC process which is more than year, then you can apply for 7 th year extension or until decision is made.

once your 6 years done or if you are out of country continuously for 1 year or more you can start you clock again as H1.
