Hi, I have come to U.S.A in aug' 99 on a f-1 Visa and have completed my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Dec'01. I was on OPT untill Aug' 02 but couldnt find a job. I had to enroll in Ph.d in Aug' 02 and have gone on co-op training with a company in South Carolina. My co-op had ended in August and they offered me a job for a rless pay of 30k/year, since I dont want to continue with my Ph.d. anymore hence I took a semester break this sem and am thinking of taking up the offer. The company wants me to get my h-1 work done by myself and I need to find a lawyer who can do that for me. I need to do a express processing and start working by october 1st.
I came to know that in the place where I work in SC the pay scale for a Engineer is high, but if I take up the title of Mechanical Engineering Technician the pay scale is 29k-43k/year.
So can any one please help me give some lawyers contact no's who can do h-1 processing for me, and will their be a problem with INS (rejecting my h-1 application) on grounds of having a Master's degree for a Technician Position.
I will appreciate your help if anyone can give me a quick response.

If you dont get anybody (did you forget this is a lawyer's site?) try aila.org
