Hello friends,
I have two questions to ask;
How much is a decent enough fees (Attorney/ law firm)to expect for filing H-1
and is it true that the 185$ fees has to be paid by employer only??

I don't know about the lawyer fees.

But, I was told that all the H1 fees including lawyer are to be paid by employer.

1. attorney fees for H1 for Residency are paid by the candidates (not by the program). apprx $1600.00
2. the filing fee has to be paid by the employer. Sometimes, lawyers send their own corporate check (this helps them track the petition in case they do not receive a filing notice) and charge the employer/candidate.
.

Thanks

Thank you for the replies...I appreciate your help!
Let me ask you though..can the law firm use their corporate check for 185 $ ..or is it has to be essentially from the sponsoring hospital???
I am getting different inputs from my lawyer and the hospital people....
Thanks

Filing fees $ 185 can be paid by candidate or lawyer.. ( you pay lawyer $185 )

Lawyer feed start anywhere from 750$ to $ 2000

There are two other fees, in additions to filing fees.

1. Training Fees has to come from the employer .. through you employer may be exempted if he is affliated to Univ. or higher Educations and re-search.

2. Fraud fees of $ 500 (is being introduce from march 8th 2005)
