H-1 B query

Hi all
My company has applied for my H-1 B Visa and We have been waiting for the approval to come through for the past 3 months. I checked on the online system this morning and found out that there is a request for clarification on my application. I believe that Vermont take between 30 and 120 days to process. Now that I have already waited 90 days, does my application need to traverse all the way up the pile again (another 30 - 120 days) or will it have a different channel.
Also my OPT expired on Sept 10, 02 and I am eager to restart work ASAP. When I did checked with my University Graduate Student Dean for International students, he said that I am in status but cannot work. So I guess that part is cool... Or is there a caveat to how long I can wait for my H-1 to come through?

Generally based on the response to the RFE you should be hearing from INS pretty soon.
No caveats. But in one of the murthy's chats/ bulletin she mentions a case which was pending for more than a year which caused lots of heartburn to the candidate which was initially ruled out of status, but on appeal went back to not out of status, because INS kept the petition's approval pending...
