Guys, relocating with the wife soon, what are the easiest countries to get permanent residency?

Canada or Australia?
And how is it exactly easy to get permanent residency there for US citizens? You have to qualify, and depending on the OP's age, might not be easy to do. Also, the OP did not say how he is going to support himself and his wife in a third country. Capital gain? Many Indians buy a bunch of houses and then live off of rental income. If a person has a specific profession and a job in one country, it is very hard to just move because he got tired of the current country.

The only references that I have are two friends with approximately same qualifications as me. One of them naturalized in Canada, the other one in Australia, and their overall process was much easier compared to my immigration adventure in the US.

On the other hand, I agree, I do not know the OP's age and qualifications, so it might be much harder.
