Guys...How many of you game to protest ?

i'd rather appreciate if a lawyer(someone whom u trust) wrote up a petition "in general" for VSC I-140 bieng late as compared to other processing centers.

I think most of the people do not want to be associated with any trouble related to their green card proessing and that is understandable. I am in the same boat too (RD:May 23, 2002).

Sumantha, I appreciate ur efforts to band us togehter, but fear is the key. Please fins a competent and trustworthy lawyer who can file a "class action" petition, representing all VSC I-140 beneficiaries.

Thanks,
Chiks

We need to move right.

Chiks, your points are very well understood. I would be
glad if there were people , others like u .

That's what I have been seeking....let not there be any
illusion that I am such a fool so as to write a petition
myself and run with that to someone.

Of course, we have to do it the right way.

But let there be at least people who say that its ok with them.

WE can seek Rajiv Khanna's help if needed, why not ?

But u know what ? Look at this pathetic majority... they r scared
to death to do even that !!!

Brickbats r ok with me....but if people such neck deep in the
problem claim I am MENTALLY SICK...what can i say ?

There r so many affected.. what stops us from getting a thousand
affected applicants to proceed and start talking at least ?

Rajiv's Khanna office just obtained a judgement filed on behalf of H1 dependents who were being denied Social Security Numbers.
Seems to me the way to go about it for Sumanta to send an email to Mr Khanna and ask if our case/petition as any merits, which I am sure it does, but he might have different opinion.

That is correct, Rajiv Khanna's office obtained a ruling so H-4's can get SNN's too. Now his office is writing a petition for the backlogs in labor processing. I think we need to do the same thing, get a petition for the backlogs in 140 processing.

How is this suggestion ?

Again.. PARTICIPATION IS key !!!

Firstly, the term "lead" is anathema to me. Bcoz i have
seen so called "leaders" ( ISN, for example ) disapear once they
have worked their issues with GC.

I am the farthest from a politician...I was thinking more of
collective leadership...we all know what's to be done.
We have the brains to understand that.

Secondly, leadership or no leadership, if this has to work
we need PARTICIPATION.

Yes.. PARTICIPATION.....by that I mean at least 1000 people...
less than that.. u don't get any effect. Period.

And where is that PARTICIPATION ? Or even a fraction of
it ?

Dude,

Collective leadership never works. People like to follow.

If u can get the petition drafted and posted on this forum, people will automatically sign it and whatever participation we get, we/Rajiv Khanna's office is going to submit it thru the right channels anyways. That will be the dent we make. No one can give u a guarantee that 1000 people will participate. Someone has to start and we go from there.

If u keep waiting for people to say YES I will particiapte, thats never gonna happen

Just my $0.02

Note a problem

I sure can draft one. However, I think it would be extremely
prudent for someone from an attorney's office ( the likes of
Rajiv Khanna ) to review the text of the same.

Why am I asking for participation ? Bcoz, of course, I don't
want to spend my own dollars in setting up an appointment
with Rajiv Khanna.. these ( mostly Indian ) misers are very
adept at hiding in a hole and just coming out to take
the benefit of something. No I have no desire for that at all..

There has to be sharing ( and that includes dollars ) ....

Without that, no progress....

Sumanta Dude,

There is no money involved in this. ALl you have to do is draft an email not a petition. Mr.Khanna will take care of that. IF you want we can "collectively" draft an e-amil if u open a new thread on it.

I second the motion. Sumanta, please draft an email to Mr Khanna. I promise once it is ready I will get 100 signatures.
;)

Let's Consolidate

Let's consolidate as to what we wanna do.
Just too many threads....keep it one thread..one topic...
that will lead to a consensus.....

I agree.. lets keep it to one thread

Folks,

Lets keep the discussion to one thread. No point in opening multiple threads. Can someone consolidate all the different threads to this one. Lets use this thread as the main one for discussion.

OK here's the Plan of Action :

1. Draft a letter to Rajiv Khanna.
2. Post the draft of the letter on here
3. Keep the draft open for comments for 1 week, make all corrections needed in the 1 week time.
4. After 1 week mail/send the letter to Rajiv Khanna.
5. Wait for his response.
6. In the meanwhile, open another thread like the one for labor backlogs for sigital singatures to the petition.
7. Finally, depending on Rajiv Khanna's response, decide how to proceed further.

How does this sound for a plan.
