Hi,

I am looking for a single man who has I-140 approved or to be approved soon (but has not submit I-485 yet), If I want to marry him and benefit from the "follow to join" policy, which is to include me in his I-485 application, is there any regulations, limitations regarding the marriage and application? How long do we have to stay in marriage for me to get my green card?

I am under H-1B for 2 years, never out of status, never married before, with Masters degree in the US. Just tired of being afraid of getting laid off anytime...
 
Think before you act!

If INS knows that this is a fraud, you might get serious punishment. Not to mention that the guy who is trying to help you out may lost his GC too.

Even US Citizens and people with Green Card can be and are being laid off. And btw, when you are simply interested in showing a marriage on paper, why are you punting \'Have MS from US\' - you know what I mean. Even people half as qualified as yourself (that is if you have a MS degree) who are highly incompetent, no sense of mannerism, poor or no communication skills are making a living here (even in this sort of economy) - have some confidence in yourself.

At the time your 485 is adjudicated you may get a RFE since you got married just a few months before filing 485 and could be doubted as a case of Visa fraud and may be rejected. But you would get oppurtunity to prove otherwise.
But Personally I do not agree with your idea of marrying some one just for a GC. If you loose you job and cannot find another job what is the point in living here desperately. Go back to wherever you come from. With your MS degree you can find a very good job in your home country. If the idea is to meet some one to get married then good luck.
