Guys,is it necessary to get the visa revalidation after you get EAD. My EAD is valid till May 2002 but my visa has expired in May 2000. Please post replies.

Visa Revalidation is for Travel, EAD the basis for your stay in the USA

Try to understand the difference. If your Visa stamp on passport expired, you would not be able to come back without getting restamped for Visa on your passport from a US Consulate outside USA.

Since your I-485 is in process, you would just need to get Advance Parole from TSC (apply using I-131 form) attaching copies of I-485 receipt etc as proof. You can download the form from the web.

EAD is separate. That is for your ability to work.

Thanks for the reply and your advise to get a parole. So in that case I presume that I need not go for visa revalidation..

When your 485 is still pending and you apply for VISA validation. What whould we answer for the question(Have any one filed an Immigrant visa petition on your behalf? Yes/No)

Why would you want to revalidate visa? Just get Advance Parole

Why would you want to ravalidate visa? Advance Parole may be your better (and probably right) alternative.
