Gurus Please help weird situation : Out of Status Issue !!

My wife\'s & kids I-94 expired in Dec 99 a month after I filed for I-485, I did not get them renewed since I got AP and one of the lawyers assistant told me not to worry since I had filed for 485 and AP. I still hold valid H1.
The question which is bothering me now is are they still in status ?

They too are in status. After we filed I-1485, my wife never extended her H-4 as the lawyer told us that she is not on AOS status and does not any visa.

We got approved last month.
