Gurus..Need your advice

Like many of you, I am waiting for 485 approval for more than 19 months ( WAC02-064-XX). Through this frustating wait process, I managed to keep my job with sponsor comp. for more than 200 days, switched to another company, lost that job two months ago. My FP expires by the end of this month.
Now, I got a new project offer(4-6Months) in NSC area. My questions are:
1. Should I change address to NSC? or give a friend's address here.
2.Will it be a problem if I change address(service centers) many times in 485 stage?
3. What will happen to my re-FP in both the cases? Can I do it in the new place? or I have to come back to Calif.?

a friend had a similar-ish situation . Consult a lawyer as this is second hand information but the attroney advised him :

1) You must do the AR address change form; Potential trouble otherwise.

2) you dont have to shift the case if California remins your primary residence - you can be on a temporary assignment to the new location . You can indicate this on the AR form . You should have some evidence though that you have permanent roots in Ca.
