Gurus, Is it true that we can go to local INS office to get FP notice? Link inside.

Before this FP process is centralized (CSC use to issue FP notices), in couple of cases people were able to get FP notices from local INS (one had to stand in the line early morning though!). See following experiences at CIBA\'s site..

But it seems recently they are not doing it any more! I know some one who went to San Jose app. two months back but was not able to get one! He was told that "..we use to do it before and burnt our hands due to that and are not doing it any more! You need to contact CSC for FPs".

Any way if FPs are way overdue and some one has patience to stand in the line, probably it is worth a shot!

Yes, I got mine FP notice in the San Diego Local INS office

You have to wait in line for several hours, but it worth it.

Can you give me more detail on this, like when did you do this, how many days after RD, what documents were asked?

My infomation is in the original poster titled" Fax inquiry finally pays off, New question" I got the fax from INS stating that I have finger print scheduled on 5/1, but I never received anything by 4/29. I went to local INS and showed them the fax and my original receipt. They then gave me a Finger print notice schedlued for 5/2. It seems to me they don\'t care that much. Good luck.

They can do it for you if they are not busy. For my case, I am the only one they need to work with at that moment.
 
INS sent me the Fax

They atcually sent two faxes, one to me, and the other one to my wife. My infor was in the original message. Here is again,

wac 01-237-xxxx
RD:5/27/01
ND: 7/13/01
AP 8/10/01,
FP: 5/2/02
EAD:5/14/02

When did you respond to RFE on EAD

I am also having the same issue, My case # WAC 01 277-XXXXX, I had a RFE on EAD which we received only recently, we sent a response on 05/09/02. How long did it take to get approved after the RFE response and how long is the EAD valid. Is it 1 year from date of approval or 1 year from date of application. Did you have to do anything to push for the approval. Your response is appreciated.
