Hello, here is the situation.

I am currently in H1 and the current AP is valid until Dec 2, 2004. I want to visit Canada in Labor day and China in Oct or Nov this year.

I am thinking to renew my AP soon. But in case the renewal petition has not been approved at that time, do I have any problem to re-enter the States? Will it affect my I-485 case? And is there any thing I should pay more attention?

----- if you get new AP approved in hand before you depart US that is fine, if you dont get new AP in hand before you depart then you CAN use the earlier AP that is valid till Dec 2,2004, you Must Enter US BEFORE Dec 2, 2004
Will it affect my I-485 case?
----- if you come back to US before the Valid AP expiry date and that AP was approved while you were in US/ before you departed US then no problem
And is there any thing I should pay more attention?
------ Keep the Valid AP with you and be back to US before AP expires, it is better to keep I-485 filing reciept with you(show only if asked)
