Hi Rajib sir,
I completed my masters in Canada in 2020 and after that I applied for PhD in the USA and entered the USA with F1 visa in 2021. After 6 months, I received a very good full-time job offer in Canada and I left PhD and moved to Canada. After gaining some industry experience, I decided to start my PhD journey again and so I applied for PhD in the USA for Spring 2025 intake and got admission from one university, say university A and I got my F1 visa for university A. After few weeks, I got another admission from university B and I decided to go to university B and so I transferred my SEVIS fee to university B from university A and entered USA to join university B with the name of the university A in my F1 visa. After 10 days, my grandfather died and I had to leave the USA and I came back to India. Now I am prepared again to start my PhD and so I requested university A to defer my previous admission to fall 2025 and fortunately they considered that and I am offered admission for fall 2025. As you know that I already have the previous F1 visa with this same university A and so I was trying to transfer my SEVIS fee again back to university A from university B, but I was unsuccessful as university B terminated my SEVIS and so my current DSO from university A closed the old SEVIS what was issued previously with them to avoid this issue and opened a new SEVIS for me and issued new I20 to me and suggested me to pay the SEVIS fee with this new SEVIS with them. This is the whole situation. That means now I have F1 visa with the name of university A in it, but now my SEVIS ID is different for the same university A than the SEVIS ID I had previously with this same university.
My question is: would I be able to enter the USA with the F1 visa, or I have to take a new visa as my SEVIS ID is changed?
