Guest worker program-more backlogs

Hi

I am fed up with Bush keeping on about intrducing the Guest worker program

The main reason he wants to intorduce is money for Uncle Sam

If this goes ahead, I cannot bear to think how the USCIS will cope with documenting all these illegals. I am certain that there will be a #hold all policy # to enable the staff of the DOS/USCIS to cope. This (IMHO) will cause even more backlogs and delays for the rest of us!

More mistakes as even more paperwork goes missing

So to harp on but I am fed up today, every time I watch the news this is all I hear

GUEST WORKER, GUEST WORKER, etc., etc.,

Regards Sue

Where is he "introducing it"???
Congress is the law making body in the US, as anybody who actually understands the US government structure, knows.
All the president can do is suggest something to Congress. Congress is free to ignore suggestions from the president. And the House of Representatives has, since their immigration bill does not contain any guest worker program.
So, before mouthing off, I would suggest learning about how law making works in the US, and not just listening to right-wing talkradio or Fox News...

Geez, in one forum you speak out against the DV program, here this BS... I wonder when you speak out against employment-based immigration, because that also causes delays. And family-based immigration...

Actually, the President can introduce legislation. He does so, through the VP, who is the President of the Senate.

But you are correct, the President has only suggested what he wants and when the idiots in Congress pass it, the backlog from this boondoggle will be tremendous.

Actually the VP cannot introduce/sponsor legislation in the Senate. Apart from casting a tie-breaking vote, he is only a mere ceremonial officer of the Senate.
