Finally, my journey has reached the approved stage.

My GC saga started way back in 1997 and due to acquistions and mergers, my lawyer were able to file for labor only in 1998. My I 140 took 21+ months and finally got approved in Dec 2000. My lawyers took another 6 months to apply for I485 in May 2001.

Case Details:

AP Approved Aug 14 2001 never recieved.
EAD Approved Nov 5 2001
FP Done on Nov 3 2001

Famous "resumed processing on Dec 29" until April 4th 2002

Approved on April 4th.

I have visited this site on and off. This is one of the best forum for guesstimating the progress with information from ciba\'s and pcee\'s list.

I\'m excited to announce that myself, my wife, and kids I-485 is Approved and received the approval notice last week Wednesday. We got our Passport stamping done today.

Finally got the approval - finger prints taken in November didn\'t seem to help. Passport stamped using the courtesy copy of the notification

My case,primary, was approved on 3/18. We just heard the AVM that my spouse(ID:noakland) got approved on 4/8.

Lawyer sent an fax inquiry in the end of March and quickly got back from CSC on 4/1 saying case would be assigned to an officer. Actually I called the CSC before asking the lawyer to inquiry and was told that case was assigned on 3/13. Anyway, there were some conficts here. But I would like to say that the fax inquiry worked. My lawyer also said that CSC is very responsive to fax inquiry now.

So to all those whose spouses\'cases are still pending, your cases could be approved at any time.

Today I recieved my 485 approval notice from INS CSC!

I am still shocked... I\'ve been calling CSC since the last
2 days and even today the automated system said
"on feb 7th we mailed you fingerprint notice..." but
open the USPS mailbox and there was 485 approval
notice inside, first time I enjoyed checking mail !

Sad thing is my wife did not recieve her notice yet. We
both applied at the same time.

Here\'s my history:

EB3/India
Priority Date: 08/2000
485 Applied: 08/2001
485 Notice Date: 09/2001
EAD Recieved: 01/2002
AP Recieved: 01/2002
Fingerprint Notice: 02/2002 (after attorney faxed an inquiry)
Fingerprinting Done: 03/11/2002
485 Approval Date: 04/01/2002 (20 days after FP !!!)

I changed my address after recieving FP notice. My
atorney faxed the new address to INS CSC and
I fedexed AR11 to INS Washington too. Got my 485
approval to new address so INS does have my new address!

No Change in Jobs! Dont plan to.

Man I feel relieved, and I hope my wife gets it soon too!

Need to go to San Jose for PP stamping. Heard there\'s
a lot of crowd there. If anyone can share their PP stamping
experience at San Jose Monterey Rd INS, I will appreciate it.

Finally, I wish ALL of you GOOD LUCK with your GC and
THANK each and everyone of you who participate in
this forum. There were a lot of days I\'d just keep reading
away until I am dead tired. I hope all of you get your GCs
soon.

Finally my case was approved. Went to San Francisco Office for stamping today. Arrived at 1:00pm and get out at 1:30. Finally!

Case not assigned. RD - 07/25/01 ND - 09/08/01

Hello Folks,
First of all.. very sorry to use this forum for anything other than approvals. AVM updated to FP reviews recieved on 01/12/02. I called IIO on 04/08/02 and was told that case is not assigned to an officer. Getting frustrating because she told me that everything was in order. What should I do? Will sending an Inquiry help, which I did send in yesterday? Any theories as to what is holding this up? Didnt change addresses or jobs.
