Greencard swiped at the POE?

Hello,

Does anybody know if greencards are always swiped at the POE? I remember one time (and one time only) when the officer seemed like she was scrolling through a list on her computer, and then stamped my passport and that was it. I don't think she typed-in any info or swiped my card. This happened back when fingerprinting for permanent residents at the POE was not required.

Although I have a stamp in my passport, I am worried that my entry might not be recorded electronically, which may cause problems (for example during citizenship application).

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That should not cause a problem for you. If there is a mismatch between tw odifferent dates, then there is potential.

What do you mean? What two dates?

Since departures are not recorded, isn't there a risk that it would look as if I was out of the country for 6 months, when in fact, for example, I had two separate short trips that are 6 months apart?
