Greencard-Secondary Applicant before Primary Applicant

Hi ....

Is it actually possible that the spouse, who is secondry applicant, gets the greencard first and the primary applicant later.

Actually I called up VSC today they told me that my wife's name check and date of birth check got cleard, but that mine are still pending.
She told me that they are waiting to get Visa No. available for my wife....


Do u think it is possible that she will get the greencard before me , even though my Security cleareance is pending.


Is anybody in same situation?

Hi Manzu,

The secondary applicant's (beneficiary) case can not be approved until unless primary applicant's case is adjudicated.

I had the same situation as yours. My spouse's Name Check got cleared within a month but still had to wait until my Name Check is cleared, which took 1.5 years.
