Greencard Renewal or Citizenship Dilemma

my GC is expiring in 6 months(approved in 2005). As the 10 years is nearing, i am in dilemma to apply for GC renewal or Citizenship.

The reason is i was involved in petty theft in 2004 and 2007, paid fine and expunged the documents. Biggest mistake of my life, can you guide me?

is the 5 year statuary period help me if i apply for Citizenship?
Do i need a immi attorney?
will there be any interview if i just go with GC renewal

If you disclosed the 2004 incident to USCIS before green card approval, the 5-year statute of limitations would protect you since they knew about it when they approved your green card.

But the 2007 one could be trouble. Consult an immigration lawyer who can review the specifics of your case.
