Greencard Cancelled!!!

So what's so extraordinary in that case? The guy lost GC by not residing in the US for more than a year without reentry permit. Should he bother to educate himself before leaving (or shortly after) it wouldn't happen.
 
1 The person was NOT staying in US from December 1999 AND he left with out applying Reentry permit (that is Only valid for 2 years from approval date). The poster says “borders did not tell him about Re-entry permit” it is not duty of Canada immigration (he faced Canada immigrating when he entered Canada) or US immigration to tell him that he needs Reentry permit. That person did NOT maintain US residence. US immigration did nothing wrong with him.

Even if you are unaware of the laws of the country you still are required to follow them.
