Green Cards Quota finished...Your observations

I think that the green card quota is finished for the year 2002 and that is why there is no issuance of the GC's.

Also they might want to redefine quota's based on threats from certain countries.....

Any comments.......

Is it all worth the wait.....

If that was the case. INS will would have made a public anouncement. cases are being processed but no approval is being issued because new security measures are still being set up. the only thing we can do is relax and wait.

thats absurd

Facts:
 For INS 2003 started on OCT 1. SO there is no way they will run out of anything !

 If they run out then they will change the priority dates (ALL Emp. Based are current)

 They do Annual auditing around first week of Oct and find a lot of LOST cases which has to be approved before they can take new cases.

 On top of this INS goofed up by approving Naturalization to suspected terrorist. So they have added MORE security checks before issueing any approvals. (This I guess is what some one interpreted as computer upgrade or so)

 SO my guess is they will approve cases but in a VERY VERY SLOOOOOOW pace due to the new checks

IMHO

Sounds correct

Hot mail,

Your post seems extremely logical. I wonder how long this situation will last. I am hoping for a jump start in the approval process but as time goes by, it seems as if I am foolish in expecting a miracle.

I agree with hot mail. I think INS is implementing ridiculous stupid security checks, just like airports to trouble innocent and law abiding people, while the real culprits go blow something.

To LogX:

You do not need to give the full of your WAC number. Those are considered to be your confidential. Only the WAC-02-xxx will tell the receive date and works fine.

It is not accurate. The Visa Bulletin reflects
the current usage of quota which is current as
of latest bulletin.

In fact, if INS slows down processing, there
would be a lot of unused numbers and quota can
not get full.

Remeber in early 2000, the dates became current for both India and china.
Rason for that was that INS did not process any
I-485 for quite some time and the demand for
quota numbers went so low that dates became
current for both India and China. Once INS
started processing GC, the dates quickly
retrogated to 97.
