Dear Sir,

I have a few questions regarding the issue of Green cards to parents of U.S. citizens.

1) How long is the whole process take to get green card ? To ensure speedy issue of the G C, which are the important documents to be taken care of. The parents are in the U.S. on a valid visitors' visa.

2)On submission of the application for G C, does it amount to automatic extension of Visa which otherwise lapses after 6 months.( granted by the Immigration Authorities. )

3) Is there any obstacle faced by the applicants for G.C. if advance parole
is applied for any reason. Will applying for parole delay the process in any way for obtaining the G C. ? Will it delay the issue of G C ?

I did CP for my parentsa GC. And in my experience.
1) 4 months approved by USCIS (California). GC interview at consulat 2-3 months after that (depending how quick you file papers with NVC)
2) for AOS your parents can stay legally here till the papers are aproved. Make sure you have proof that they came here on a tourist/other type of visa without the intent to immigrate or reduce the amount of time for GC process. They'll have to prove that.
