Green Card Travel outside

Hello Forum,

I have questions to those who already travelled outside US when they got their green cards

I know that Refugee Travel Document is good thing to have when you travel, but it costs around $500 and expires every year. But from what I understood, it is not mandatory and not required to reenter US.

I have green card via asylum and plan short trip to Bermuda (not country of persecution, I don't go there).

Bermuda accepts US green card holders so no visa or US passport required to go to Bermuda.

Upon return US will check green card and if admissible should not be problem to come back. Admissibility is guaranteed as I meet all criteria.

So I have a question to ones who travelled outside as green card holders, did you have any problem because of not having refugee travel document?

I just answered your question on another thread, but now that I know you want to go to Bermuda, I think you need your NP or something instead of it -RTD or RP. Yes, the GC allows you to enter without a visa, but you also need a document for them to stamp, and for an airline to let you board: http://www.gotobermuda.com/get-here/travel-tips/. You are not eligible for a US passport so it is irrelevant.
