Green card through my kids?

I heard some one saying that "after they came to the United States illegally, their wives soon became pregnant, had more kids born in the states. Because the america-born kids are U.S. citizens, the illegal parents were able to get their green cards and later became citizens, too!" I would like to know if this is true and if so, I need to know how I can obtain green cards. (I am holding non-immigrant visa and have one child born in the U.S.) Thanks in advance for your information and advice!

Thanks for your reply

Thank you, guys! I appreciate it! I felt like I could apply right now, but I would have to wait for many more years. Thanks!

Not possible until kids are at least 18 years old and earn at least 125% of poverty level.
The child must be a US citizen, and at least 21 years old. Even if he/she is not qualified to sponser his/her parents, they can have another sponsor.

Thats correct.
AND, the child has to be present in the US to sponsor parents. See domicile rules for the I-864

plus, the parents must have come to the States legally, with a visa (visa waiver) and inspection by an immigration officer. Otherwise, they can't adjust.

if it was chrurning out a kid, everyone here would hold a GC in 9-12 mths

instead of hanging around in the forum for years awaiting 485, they would go and work on the kids machine, and you thought you were the only one who could work with that machine
