Green Card Through Different Company

I am working for a consultancy (company A) right now, and my last contract with client company B ended a few weeks ago. I am not getting any projects through my consultancy, but company B might offer full-time employment to me. Problem is, B does not do GCs. What I want to know is, can I get my GC processing done through A while I go and work for B? If yes, at any point would I have to go back to working for A again?

I would appreciate any response to this inquiry, especially if someone has any first-hand experience with such a situation.

Thanks!

Yes you can. You need to join and work for A upon approval of your GC i.e. 485.
I do not have first hand experience but I know that this is possible.

Good Luck.

What will happen If after 485 approval he decide not to join sponsoring employer at all.

I think he will need to use AC21 portability rule 6 months after 485 is file and if 140 is already approved.
