Well, I came to the US on F-1 visa and my brother is a US citizen. He is willing to sponsor me, but the only concern I have is how long would it take? would it matter if I am here in the US already? and if I hire an attorney, can he/she make the case go faster? Thank you for the response

It will take 12 to 15 years. It does not matter (speed wise) whether you are inside or outside the US. The only thing that an attorney can make faster is the rate at which your bank balance decreases.
