Green Card Status after Seperation

Hello Gurus,

Need help with a few issues my cousin is facing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My cousin came to US last year after her marriage and got her GC within a few months through her husband. After a few months after getting their GCs they returned to India due to some personal problems. Now things have complicated in their marriage and they are facing seperation. Though she has a copy of her green card she does not have the plastic card with her.

I have two questions :

1. How long her GC remains valid if she is out of country ?

2. Can she claim her green card status if she does not get the plastic card back ?

----------- was her husband US citizen or employer filed GC for him and lady filed I-485 and got the GC with him. need the info

----------- where is her plastic card ?
I have two questions :

1. How long her GC remains valid if she is out of country ?
-------- when did she left US? it that more than 1 year? did she apply for reentry permit while in US. if she did not get the card did she got GC stamp in passport? if yes till what date the stamp is valid?
2. Can she claim her green card status if she does not get the plastic card back ?
-------need to know the full facts of her case.
