green card or citizenship for work in motherland?

Guys,

Would US companies working in my motherland prefer me to have my motherland citizenship or US citizenship?

Given I have permanent residency in US. I would officially lose right to work in motherland after attaining US ctzp, meaning I would have to apply for a right to work (a little ridiculous, isn't it?).
