Summary of My Situation & Question

I’m a U.S. green card holder, age 69, currently living in the U.S. at my son’s home.
  • Since Aug 2022, I had two trips abroad, each about 7 months, to handle family/property matters.
  • I have no U.S. bank account or bills in my name. My son covers all my living expenses.
  • I have two sons abroad with recently approved I-130; NVC is asking for strong evidence of U.S. domicile, I was attached state ID and they rejected.
  • I plan to stay permanently in the U.S. now and re-establish ties,
What I’m Doing:
  • Writing a statement to NVC explaining my intent to re-establish domicile.
  • I planning to create bank account and asking my son to add me on the utility bill.
Question:
- What other steps or documents can strengthen my case for U.S. domicile with NVC?
- Which document I have to make.
- I want to prepare for my sons' visa interview and want to make sure they present strong evidence to the consular officer.

Two trips of 7 months within a timeframe of over 3 years isn’t a problem from a physical presence perspective but you seem to have established absolutely no ties. Even if your son pays for everything, it seems odd that you have absolutely nothing. No debit or credit card of your own? What about doctor and dentist bills - those should be in your name even if he’s paying them?

During this period, I have been financially supported by my son, which is why most expenses were paid directly by him and not under my own accounts. Until recently, I did not maintain a separate bank account, debit, or credit card in my name. I have now opened a personal bank account and can provide the application confirmation as evidence.
Regarding medical care, I can provide medical records and bills that are in my name, even though payment was handled by my son. I can also submit additional supporting documents such as a letter from my son confirming financial support, a letter from my church, proof of residence.
Please let me know if there is any specific additional evidence you would recommend submitting.
Thank you!
