My parents want come to visist me. They have property, decent savings in bank in my home country. However when my father went to consulate to apply B2, IO asked about my information and then rejected my father's application without asking him too much other quetions about himself.

I came to U.S. by B2, married a U.S. citizen. Unfortunately I am divorced now. Is this the reason why my father got rejected? He is very upset. I feel so sorry and guilty about that if that is because of me. :(

I provided employment letter, tax return, I-134....I guess IO didn't look at them at all.

I am worrying because of me, my parents will never have chance come to visit U.S. It is too sad! I can apply Citizenship now, but I don't plan to sponser immigration for my parents since they don't want immigrate to U.S at all. They just want come to see where I live ( I just bought a new home last year ).

Anybody has similiar experience and suggestion??

Thanks a lot!

Your father failed to overcome 214(b). As simple as that. No one can be sure if the consul also considered your past history when making that determination. With regards to your guilt, that only you can address. Your father should give it a few months and then re-apply. Best of luck to him.

Thanks Triple Citizen!

It is unfair that consulate assume my father has immigration intendency because of my B2 history.

He doesn't want try to re-apply now, totally felt insulted. I want him visiting me so much!

How can he prove his non-immigration intent?

Thanks for any suggestions.

As I said in my previous post, we cannot be sure if that was a factor is denying your father's visa.
By law, the consul HAS to assume that all visa applicants have immigrant intent. They have no choice!!!
