Green card holder getting married to a L1 visa holder

Hi,

I received my green card in July 2000 and I am going to apply for my US citizenship next year. I understand that I can file my papers in January 2005 (since, it's 4.5 years from when I got my GC).

Here's my issue:
I am going to marry a L1 visa holder this year. Can someone please advise how I can sponsor him for his green card right after our marriage (i.e. even before I file my papers for citizenship)? Is it possible or do I have to wait till I get my citizenship next year to do any kind of sponsorship like that?
