Green Card for Wife.

BacktoAmerica

I have got my US Citizen ship a few years back and have relocated to India a few years back. Last year i got married and have plan to take my wife with me back to the USA. I have read about the K3 Visa and heard that the average processing times are around 5 months. Is there any other process i can follow that is much quicker so I can take my wife with me.

Thanks in advance.

Really, is that how long it is taking? Generally, once you receive Form I-797, Notice of Action, indicating that USCIS has received the Form I-130, you can do paperwork to apply for K-3 visa for her and that process is most likely not 5 months. Five months is for the I-130 to be approved.

i130 and then an immediate relative petition.- The i130 is taking about 5 months of processing time. Is that right ? And unless that is over i cannot take my wife to the US?

I-130 alone is about 5 months. But that's just the first part of the process. After that, the NVC will forward the case to the consulate in India and then there will be some other paperwork and procedures including the medical and interview. All of that can total a year from the initial I-130 filing until she can move to the US as an immigrant.
