Hi,

The employer is preparing I-140 petition for my green card. I want my wife to get green card with me, and I heard that she should be included in my application from I-140 stage.

Besides putting my wife's name in the part 7 (Information on spouse and all children of the person ...) of I-140 form, is there anything else I need to ask my employer to do at this stage? Also what should I do in the I-485 stage for her?

I don't want to overlook anything and cause her any trouble later on. Thanks a lot in advance!

As I-140 is not for dependants, I would stick to your employers view.

Filing in your spouse's name in 140 application is good enough. At the time of applying for 485, you will be submitting 2 485 forms, one for yourself and one for your spouse.

Your wife is considered as a derivative applicant with you being the primary. So at 140 stage nothing much is required about her.

I don't recall that I provided I-94 etc during I-140 filing - so my guess, it should be possible.

Anybody with similar experience?
