Green card for parents

Hi,
How long does it normally take to get green card for parents living in US? I'm a US citizen. My mother entered US with B2 visa but has overstayed for about 2.5 years. Now she needs to leave US for a family issue. I need to know how long the normal process time for the case like her is, assuming I have all the documents ready.

If she goes back and then applies for green card, how long does it normally take?

Thanks in advance!
Kay

AOS for a parent should be completed in 8 to 12 months depending on the local DO.

That too should take around 12 months after she serves her 10 year ban.

If she goes back and then applies for green card, how long does it normally take?

Do not let her leave before doing AOS in US , if she leaves without AOS she will trigger the 10 year ban because of the overstay.
All overstay is forgiven as a IR of a US citizen and she will be allowed to adjust status and recieve a GC ONLY in US after you file for her.
That is the only choice she has to recieve a GC.

The ban kicks in for those individuals too who do not respect immigration regulations and overstay their welcome. Bans are triggered, even for spouses and parents of US citizens, if they leave the US after an overstay.

Wow, I thought 10 year ban is for those who entered US illegally....I'm glad I asked. Thanks you both!
