Green Card - Conditional or Permanent?

Hi Folks,

I've been reading this forum for long but this is actually my first thread.

I'm currently applying for GC through marriage and i have a big question. I have the notice date on the February 08, 2006, and my finger prints its probably about to come, and my question is, when actually they decide if my GC will be conditional or permanent? by the date of the interview or before that? We're trying to calculate more or less the time so we can know if i'm going to receive the permanent GC, so it will be a few less things to do in the future if i do. I married her on July 14th, 2004, i guess you can make the math.

Thanks for anyone reading and trying to help me with that, i really apreciate it! And have a nice day :)

If you get approved after July 14th 2006, 2 years after the date of your marriage, then it will be an uncoditional permanent residency :)

yeah i actually got that part, my question is if the approval occurs at the interview date or before that.

Wouldn't make much sense to get approved before the interview now would it? ;)

thats what i wanted to hear, nice and clear. i actually have one more question. if i wanted too, may i re-schedule my interview, if they schedule that before the 14th of july? I dont think thats going to happen as i've seen at AOS interview Timeline, but just in case, i would like to know.

well if u really not in hurry then u can reschedule it.anyway remember sometimes it takes forever for uscis to get back to u.and i dont see any difference in getting conditional or permenent. once u get the conditional u can renew it when the time comes correct????????.u should be very thankful for getting the interview letter alot folks here cant wait to get it.dont risk baby.i.ll say just go for it

Yes, you can reschedule it but that doesn't mean that you decide what date you want your new interview. You will have to wait for a new interview notice and when is about reschedules, it is not connected with any timeline.

Good luck,
