Green card arrived....My experience

Dear friends,

I received my GC after several years of frustration with USCIS.

In 2006 my EB1-OR was denied with absurd reasoning.
In July 2007, I applied for NIW (using same reco letters of EB1-OR).

In 2008 due my NIW I-140 security checks my H1B extension was pending for more than one year.

I contacted the senator and my security checks and I-140 (NIW) were approved in 2008 December.

Due to lack of visa numbers, I applied for EB1-EA in March 2009 and filed ANOTHER set of I-485s along with the pending NIW I-485.

When PP opened, my I-140 for EB1-EA was approved in July 2009.

My NIW applications were transferred from TSC to NSC earlier in 2008.

Since my EB1-EA applications were in TSC, I had to go to INFOPASS thrice to get my petitions transferred back from NSC to TSC.

The two I-485s were a major headache and mistake. In my opinion, interfile and dont file mutliple I-485's.

Contacted the congressmen several times, raised three SRs and finally contacted the senator again.

I received the physical green cards few hours back. They were probably in the mailbox yesterday.

There are two facets to the application process.

1. Pre-submission (Reco letters, format, criteria etc). Get a good lawyer for this one. Send me a private message and I can tell who was mine.

2. Post-submission (Recently, most of them get their GC's in months, if you are one of the unlucky ones, push hard with congressmen, senators and SRs).

If you are passive, nothing will happen. Its your petition and you have nothing to lose.

I still dont have my derivative application approved.

Hope this helps....
