Conditional Green Card Approved - DO Cherry Hill, NJ
Time: 12/11/2006, scheduled at 9:15am
My husband and I arrived Immigation office at 8:40am. A security officer asked our IDs and interview letter. We showed all the IDs, we passed the security check point. After that, we gave the interview letter to the reception and waited in the lobby. There were only 5 to 6 groups of people. Two of them were with their lawyers. We were called at 9am by a male immigation officer. He asked us to enter into a female immigation officer's room and then he entered with us too.
We sweared in and the lady started to ask me questions. She has accent. I guess she is from Spain or Portugal and my husband think she is from middle or south america. She is a nice lady but she was serious. She asked our IDs, my passports (including British Overseas,Australian and SARS(Hong Kong), but she just only checked my old passport British Overseas which included my B1/B2 visa. After she checked my passport and she passed the passport to the male officer. (My husband said the male officer is professional checking identfication but I doubt it. I think he is a trainee since he asked a lot of questions to the female officer.) She asked me my date of birth and my husband's date of birth. She asked me how I get Q1 visa (which is cultural exchange) since I worked in a theme park 7 years ago. The male officer made a joke about 'it's a small world'.
She asked my husband how we met and our bills including credit cards payments, lease, insurance, pay checks... She was so appreciated how we prepared our documents.( Most of them were organized by my husband, hehe, lazy me) Then, she said 'I approved your case'. I thought it was so quick that we didn't show our pics(I want to show her to show our happy life
). She stamped my passport and told us the conditional green card will come within a month. My husband asked her about travel since I may get a great job that request me to travel to south east asia couple times per year. She said I can go out from US with my passport without the green card arrive. That is our story.
Thanks for all the people in the website. I am not a person always posted thread but I still read the others experiences. I understand this post may not have a lot of reply however it may helpful for someone out there who don't posted too much as I did. Additionally, I have some ideas about my immigation journey.
1. Waiting is painful and stressful. My approach is be positive. I know We cannot control the interview date. I remember some people in the forum got their interview letter quickly and I understand that because of different DO. Therefore, I put my focus on study, my happy relationship and work.
2. Entered into US by B1/B2 visa is not a good choice, however it would not cause a big problem in most cases.(I think)
3. My most important person in my life is my husband. Without his support, the immigation journey is meaningless.
Hope every one will have smooth immigation journey.
