Yahooooooooo we just received 2 emails for I130 & 2 for I485 approval stating that welcome notice has been mailed.Thanks to everyone specially Ari4u, Sarribal,.... Your valuable input helped us alot. This website is awesome!!!

Question: Does the Green card come with the Welcome notice ? If not what is the timeline between the 2. Please let us know.

Congratulations!!!
The welcome notice and the green card are not usually sent at the same time. The green card will follow the welcome notice in a few days.

Just received 3 emails stating the following:
after approving your application, we ordered you
a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the green card in hand from this stage ? Please help. Thanks.

Congratulations.
Look at my timeline.
Received the welcome notice on Oct 30 (3 days after email), GC on Nov 3.
You're gonna receive another email, saying that an approval notice has been sent. That is the actual card being sent.

I can't track that, but if my memory doesn't betray me, I got the "Welcome notice sent" email the same day as my interview (my passport was stamped also), got actual welcome notice on Oct 30 (it wasn't mailed the same day), got "Card ordered" email on Oct 30 as well.
Then I got "Approval notice mailed" on Nov 1 and the GC came in the mail on Nov 3 (it was actually mailed on Oct 31 and not Nov 1).
While the welcome notice and I-130 approval notice come in official USCIS envelopes, the GC comes in an anonymous envelope, just like a credit card.

Congrat, Please can you tell me more how your interview went, Did the tell you at the spot that your Name check is pending, that your interview was sucessful but pending name check? or the just told you that you will hear from them, am just curious. My interview is coming in First week of next month in Houston office.

yes, they will tell you either before the start of the interview or after the interview. In our case after the interview the officer said" I am ok with everything except let me check to see the status on the FBI check..." Then after looking he said" everything is ok except just one Name check that is pending. Now a days lot of people go through this since the interview is scheduled so quickly. YOu should be getting the clearence in 1 month /2 for most of the cases. If the name is very common , it could be beyond that....."

One thing I forgot to do is if the officer says you r struck with FBI check, then please get the IO's his email address. So that you can ask him for update.

Received the plastic Green card today. Thanks Sareebal and everyone. What a great relief. I wish everyone goodluck.
