This may sound like a stupid question, but is your SSN on your green card, or do you have to apply for one as soon as you receive it?

Hey HG, you can apply for SSN after you get your EAD.

I'm doing my AOS through DORA and should be receiving my green card within the next couple of months, so I won't be bothering with the EAD.
Do I still have to apply for a SSN when I get the green card or do you get one automatically sent to you?

My understanding is that you have to apply for SSN after you get your GC as it wont be sent automatically with your GC approval.

Yes you ll have to apply for SSN.
I am also a DORA applicant. We can apply for SSN in any stage of the AOS but i think its more convenient to apply for it after receiving your green card.
