if my greencard is approved and plan to marry my girlfried who is outside US, may i file for her as a dependent? What type of visa? How many months will she be able to join me?

It depends can you be more specific? But overall you need to marry her first then it will take a few years, since you are not a citizen, you must wait until a visa number becomes available. You would do the initial filing, but to apply for the actual CG for her, it will take a while.

Slei, currently it needs about 4 years to get the F2A visa number.

If you obtain your GC first, and you haven't married her then she must wait for several years, since you will be a green card holder and must wait for a visa number to be available.

If you marry her (not that anybody want to push you know...) before apply alone, then you could include her in your application as your spouse and she will get a derivative status.
