Green Card after stamping I-551

This is about marriage(to a US Citizen) based GC.
My spouse's passport was stamped with I-551 on Nov-21-02 at Arlington, VA office.
The officer told us that it would take 3-6 weeks.
We haven't received the actual green card.
Is this normal?
How do I find the status?

Received my wifes GC last week. It looks pretty impressive compared to what I had received 11 years ago.
