I went to my laywer today. My situation is my opt will expire early May. She said i can apply F2 first, after a couple of days, i can apply H1 , just specifying that i am changing my status from F1 to F2, My question is when i apply H1, there is an item " Current status", should i fill out F1 or F2? Do you think what she said make sense?

Right now my concern is i do not know which status will be approved first. If H1 got approved first, what about F2 application, will F2 conflict with H1?

Once H1 approved you can withdraw F2 immediately. Most of the cases, USCIS will call your attoreny to withdraw the F2.
